Just when their McVitie’s biscuit wedding cake had us thinking their Big day might not be so different from ours, the Daily Telegraph went and let slip that Prince William and Kate Middleton’s reception will take up a whole 19 rooms at Buckingham Palace. Not that we’re jealous.

The paper said that the right royal do will spread across the picture gallery – where that infamous (and potentially dunkable) cookie cake and their classic iced fruitcake will both be on display – as well as the white drawing room, blue drawing room and the state dining room.

Cooking up the cuisine that will most likely be served in the ornate red and gold state dining room will be the Queen’s head chef, Mark Flanagan, who’s not letting on what the menu includes, but did say the 600 guests (not even a little bit green-eyed…) would be chowing down on ‘the best of British produce’. We can’t help thinking he doesn’t mean fish and chips…
