Zara Phillips has tied the knot with her rugby ace boyfriend Mike Tindall in a sunny afternoon ceremony in Scotland. Wearing a simple but stunning wedding dress designed by Stewart Parvin, Zara couldn’t keep the smile from her face as she entered Edinburgh’s Canongate Kirk for a private family ceremony. She emerged 45 minutes later with her new husband beside her and in a touching moment that echoed the first royal wedding of the year, the couple shared their first kiss to cheers of delight from the thousands of well-wishers who had lined the street.

Groom Mike Tindall looked dapper in a traditional morning suit from Cad & the Dandy, complete with a dove grey waistcoat and dark blue tie. His best man, rugby star Iain Balshaw, sported a rather unfortunate accessory, a sore-looking black eye from a recent pitch injury!

Sticking to bridal traditional, Zara made her grand entrance at Canongate Kirk five minutes late on the arm of her father, Captain Mark Phillips. She stopped to wave happily to the crowds of well-wishers who had lined the street before she made her entrance into the church.

Zara’s ivory Stewart Parvin dress had soft silk tulle straps and the duchess satin bodice featured delicate pleated detailing to show off her slender, sporty figure. The fashion-forward dropped waist gave way to a bell-shaped skirt with a short train.

A dramatic floor-length silk veil and natural looking make-up worked perfectly with Zara’s understated gown. Teamed with a sparkling Art Deco-inspired tiara that was leant to her by her mother, Princess Anne, and glittering drop earrings; this royal bride looked effortlessly elegant.

It’s rumoured Zara chose to walk down the aisle in a pair of stylish Jimmy Choo shoes. We’re jealous!

Zara chose a pretty hand-tied bouquet made up of white lilies, striking pale green thistles and sweetly scented lily of the valley.

Maid of honour Dolly Maude wore a simple dove grey cocktail dress with barely-there capped-sleeves that was also designed by Stewart Parvin. The little maids wore full-skirted tulle dress with baby blue sashes while the page boy wore an oh-so-cute little black and grey kilt.

Zara and Mike: The Queen

It wasn’t just the bride and maids who wore Stewart Parvin. The Queen decided to keep things in the family and wore a knee-lengh peach jacket and dress by the same designer who had crafted her granddaughter’s wedding gown.

The Duchess of Cambridge passed the fashion test with flying colours again in this smart, lace dress coat and hat. She and Prince William looked relaxed as they soaked up the sunshine after the ceremony.

They might have been lacking a palace balcony, but that little detail didn’t stop the newlyweds delighting the crowds with a kiss as they left the church.
