Bride gets surprise after wedding photographer no-show

This couple were left with no pictures of their big day, but thanks to a good samaritan, they got a rather lovely surprise.

Every bride will tell you that not a day goes by in the run-up to the wedding where they don’t worry about something going wrong on the day.

So spare a thought for poor bride Heather, who found out her photographer was a no-show just moments from walking down the aisle.

Too late to cancel, Heather and her husband-to-be Matt had to make peace with the fact that they wouldn’t have all those lovely pictures – the first kiss, cutting the cake, the first dance – to put up on the mantlepiece.

Luckily for them though, another photographer, Dana Gruszynski, heard of their troubles on Facebook the next day, and decided to help.

She told the couple she would take pictures of them in their wedding outfits, free of charge.

Dana wrote on her blog, “My heart just sunk, I couldn’t help but cry for them. I’ve shot a fair share of weddings and I couldn’t explain to you how much I LOVE weddings.”

So far so amazing, right? Well it gets better. Unbeknownst to the couple, Dana scoured Facebook for weeks to find guests’ pictures of their wedding so she could recreate every single detail.

She even got her boyfriend’s sister, a baker, to recreate the same wedding cake, while a local florist recreated the bouquet, and her cousin decorated her backyard like the venue.

Dana also contacted the bride’s sister, who in turn rallied round friends and family to join them on the day of the shoot.

Suffice to say Heather burst into tears as soon as she realised this wasn’t just any ordinary shoot.

“I took them around the corner and they saw their family & friends and the decor I had made. She burst into tears. I did the same,” said Dana.

To be fair, we would’ve done the same!
