Bluebird Wedding Showcase
Want to know what the hottest must-haves and latest luxe looks are for your wedding this season? Look no further. We headed to the Bluebird Wedding Showcase on London’s King’s Road to explore all things wedding-lovely!
If you’re looking for a city-chic venue that oozes grace, elegance and style, the Bluebird Cafe is an über-cool wedding venue that can seat up to 230 guests.
For a glamorous hen-do, you can hire the Mezzanine room; a VIP room overlooking the restaurant that seats up to 32 guests. Enjoy girly time with private access to the bar, a sumptuous canapés menu and a plentiful supply of champagne, as well as pamper-perfect hair and beauty experiences.
Take-home tip: If you want the hustle and bustle of Chelsea as a backdrop to your Big day, opt for a Saturday city ceremony.
Top designer Aruna Seth’s new collection of bridal shoes. We fell in love with the Josie; a demure, elegant closed-toe pump with a beautiful crystallised bow on the front.
Take-home tip: Match your shoe colour to your ceremony; Aruna Seth’s Josie collection comes in fuchsia, royal blue and Tiffany blue. Check out more bridal-shoe inspiration in our new-season round-up.
Next stop: bridal hair and make-up. We caught up with the girls at beautycall.co.uk, who explained that this season’s hottest looks are inspired by glamorous vintage Forties and Fifties hairstyles. Think sleek and polished, like burlesque temptress Dita Von Teese, and work that porcelain, flawless make-up look effortlessly.
Take-home tip: If you’ve gone all-out on the dress, ditch the veil and keep it simple with a cute crystal headpiece instead. That way you’ll really be able to show off your new vintage hair and make-up.
Step aside hand-tied bouquets: say hello to trailing floral arrangements with a modern twist! London based florist McQueens gave us the fragrant lowdown on some seriously heaven-scent blooms set to cause a flower riot this season. Blossoming and wild arrangements are where it’s at, so go for that just-picked-from-the-garden style when choosing your bouquet. There is also a move away from cool greens and whites, with pastel pops of colour leading the way.
Take-home tip: Have something specific in mind for your ceremony? Enrol on one of McQueens’ workshops at mcqueens.co.uk
