So if you’re looking for a luxury venue in West London, it’s worth popping down for a recce. But brides and grooms beware – once you’ve seen it, you are so going to want it for your big day!

The hotel, next door to historic Syon House, and just across the River Thames from Kew, has been designed to the theme of ‘playful luxury’ and it looks pretty special. Features include a butterfly house in the lobby, ice cream sundae bar, swimming pool, second-floor sundeck terrace, full sensory spa experience, private club and a Martini bar. It is Waldorf Astoria’s first new-build signature hotel outside the Americas, and the company intends it to set a new standard of contemporary luxury and hospitality.

The hotel’s ultra-glam ballroom, overlooking the park, is more than spacious enough for a larger wedding, with a maximum capacity of 450 guests. Smaller spaces within London Syon Park cater for more intimate events. And you need only step outside to find yourself amid the sprawling parkland of the Syon Estate, the Duke of Northumberland’s 400-year-old country seat.

Executive Chef Lee Streeton emphasised that while there are wedding breakfast menus available, he’s keen to make every wedding that little bit special and is keen to tailormake menus for any celebration. Ingredients are locally sourced – and grown on site where possible – with menus changing on a fortnightly basis. There is a vast vegetable and herb garden on site, with orchards, a trout lake and beehives. Streeton said he hoped London Syon Park would become known for its ‘town meets country’ cuisine.
