How to jive at your wedding

Learn how to jive for your first dance with this sneak peek look at Modern Jive: Beginner to Intermediate with Simon Rich & Nicole Beckey

Strictly has started and so we’re feeling inspired and ready to don our dancing shoes and step onto the dance floor!

If, like us, watching the celebs slip into their sequinned lycra has got you wanting to take dancing a little more seriously, then your first dance is the perfect opportunity to do it! While the idea of dancing in front of your nearest and dearest may seem daunting at first, with a little help from the professionals and plenty of practise, you’ll soon feel like Darcey Bussell. Maybe.

Lively and fun, we think the jive is a great pick for your first dance. You can pair it with your favourite feel good song and just enjoy the music! While slower dance steps may seem romantic, up tempo moves like the jive are a great way to get the party started and to show how happy you are to have tied the knot!

If you’re already feeling daunted at the prospect of giving it a go, don’t be! Simon Rich and Nicole Beckey, are here to take you through it step by step. Each section is carefully explained by both partners making sure you and your spouse-to-be know exactly what you’re doing. Trust us, by the time you’ve watched the below a few times, you’ll wow your guests with your routine.

Oh, and a little friendly advice; if you are going to take on a dance routine, we’d choose some wedding flats to slip into after the wedding breakfast. Trust us, you don’t want skyscraper heels getting in the way of you showing off your best moves!

For now, don your sweats, clear some space and get your groove on!
