Make your ceremony one to remember with these super-special ideas…

  1. Think outside the pillow for unexpected ways to display your rings. Stunning alternatives include monogrammed muslin bags, vintage padlocks, handcrafted bird’s nests and books.
  2. Write your officiant a letter about your other half – and have your fiancé do the same – to help them get to know you before the ceremony and up the personalisation factor.
  3. Construct a custom altar for an outdoor wedding using found objects like an old gate, vintage window shutters or tree branches. Or craft a colourful curtain of ribbons, fabric strips or strands of crystals for a photo-perfect focal point.
  4. If you’re saying ‘I do’ in a blank-canvas venue, play with the configuration of chairs. The altar in the centre with guests sitting in a circular formation will create an intimate vibe and a better view for everyone.
  5. For a new twist on the unity candle, try the rose ceremony. The mothers of the bride and groom each carry a single shade of roses to the altar. The couple then mixes them into one unified arrangement to symbolise two families coming together.
