Newlyweds Katie and James
Wedding bells were ringing from London to Gloucestershire this weekend!
Singer Katie Melua and fiancé James Toseland tied the knot at the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew on Saturday, while Lady Mary Charteris (model, DJ and niece of Daphne Guinness) and The Big Pink’s Robbie Furze celebrated at Stanway House in the Cotswolds.
Both brides wore veils and floor-length gowns with sheer sleeves – but the style similarities stopped there. Katie’s Claire Pettibone creation featured soft floral accents, delicate embroidery and beading, while Mary sprung for rock-and-roll details including cutaway midriff panels and satin shoulder embellishments by Pam Hogg (she finished the look with statement shoes and jewellery by designer Nicholas Kirkwood).
Mary carried a country-garden inspired bouquet in different tones of purple, and Katie stuck to classic whites and creams. The

star-studded guest list at Mary and Robbie’s do included Florence Welch, Jaime Winstone, Jerry Hall, Georgia May Jagger and Mr & Mrs Lily Allen (er, sorry, Sam Cooper), with floral-clad baby daughter Ethel in tow.
Katie and James, who have been engaged since February after meeting last April, took to Twitter to share their excitement after the party wrapped up: “Sorry I couldn’t say much before trying to keep things secret but yesterday I got married to my beautiful wife Katie! Mr and Mrs T & M!!!!!!” wrote James. Added Katie, with a stunning photo of her and her new husband: “Big thank you for all your message (sic)! I’m hitched!!”
