Durham Cathedral

You’ve probably heard the rumour that Durham University graduates can get hitched in the cathedral, but that’s not strictly true. Special services such as weddings are only available only to regular members of the congregation whose names are recorded on the cathedral’s community roll, with a small number of exceptions. However, recent legal changes within the Church of England have widened the eligibility for marriage in parish churches, so Durham graduates or students should get in touch to check.
