Following a Plenty of Fish meeting and a romantic beachside proposal in Mauritius, Aimee and Alexander held their September wedding at The Yoghurt Rooms in East Grinstead, Sussex. “It was the first venue we visited and we fell in love with it,” says Aimee.
The couple opted for a traditional British theme for their wedding day with a quintessential red post box for cards, train tickets for save the dates, and golden syrup tins filled with sweets adorning the tables.
The tables were also decorated with rustic hard back books, and vintage style cups and saucers filled with coffee beans and candles. In homage to their meeting, there was a fishbowl with two goldfish in it on the top table.
The menu played in with the theme too, with classic British cuisine delighting the guests; food included pie and mash, fish and chips and Mr. Whippy ice cream for pudding.
The tables were named after concerts and shows the couple had been to, and jigsaw piece keyrings acted as favours for the guests.
Aimee and Alexander opted for a cheese wedding cake, purchased from Morrisons, alongside two cakes from M&S, proving that wedding cakes don’t always need to be a fancy affair!
Aimee wore a beautiful Maggie Sottero wedding dress with gorgeous back detailing, while Alexander looked dapped in a blue wedding suit, courtesy of Hardman & Hemming.
