Real wedding: The Proposal – To celebrate the fifth anniversary of the day we had first met as flatmates in France, Reid booked a trip back to the town of Tours, where he proposed outside our old flat on Rue George Sand with a beautiful Tiffany ring and a speech in French. It was très romantique! Photography | katylunsford.com
Real wedding: The venue – The brand new Easton Grange in Suffolk was the first venue we looked at and I already knew just from the website that it would be ‘The One’. It was really light for the photos, had a ceremony and reception barn, had gorgeous farmhouse accommodation on site and was the perfect backdrop for our wedding theme.
Real wedding: The theme – The wedding theme was based around a Ladurée macaron-inspired colour palette of mint green, pale pink and gold. We were also keen to incorporate some of our favourite things into the look so had a dachshund motif on the stationery and included subtle French touches like a macaron tower and a wine crate card box.
Real wedding: The stationery – There are so many gorgeous stationery ideas out there that I found choosing invitations the hardest part of the whole wedding planning process. Instead of just having one suite we decided to mix it up a bit with two different designs. For our Save the Dates and Orders of Service we had a bespoke dachshund logo created for us from Honeytree Publishing. On the back of our Orders of Service we included our favourite quote from George Sand – “L’esprit cherche et c’est le coeur qui trouve.” – as a nod to the road where we met and got engaged.
Real wedding: The stationery – We wanted to have a bit of fun with our invites so I was so delighted when I discovered talented artist Aimee Paints who created a cartoon of our wedding with gorgeous RSVP inserts. We put them in mint green envelopes and then sealed them with a gold wax seal in the shape of a dachshund. Aimee also created the gorgeous wooden wedding signs that directed the guests to the remote venue.
Real wedding: The photographer – As I’d been working at You & Your Wedding for over a year when I got engaged there were suppliers I knew I wanted to be part of our wedding straightaway and one of them was our photographer Katy Lunsford. We loved her dreamy style and heavenly sunset pictures and were delighted when she agreed to capture our day.
Real wedding: The dress – Months before I got engaged I saw a beautiful Peter Langner dress in You & Your Wedding and I told my colleagues that if I ever got married that would be what I’d wear. True to my word, I headed to Browns Bride to try it on as soon as I had a ring on my finger and it was perfect. The pink sash worked well with the colour scheme and I loved the flowers that cascaded down from the illusion neckline to the hem.
Real wedding: The dress – I choose the matching two-tier catherdral-length Peter Langner veil to go with the dress. This picture is one of my favourites, I felt like an angel!
