Chinese couple Cao Yuehua and Wang Deyi, both 98, decided there was only one way to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary: by recreating their wedding pictures.

So they travelled back to where they got married, in Northern Hot Springs Park in Chongqing, dusted off their wedding outfits and recreated their cherished pictures.

They even stood in the exact same place as the original shot, with the bride holding a similar wedding bouquet.

HEARTWARMING PICTURES OF OLDER COUPLES IN LOVE

Despite the whopping 70 years that have passed since the original shot, the couple look as loved-up as ever – and it’s no surprise when you know they’ve been dubbed “China’s most romantic couple”.

Cao and Wang met at a ball in 1943 held by National Southwestern Associated University, when Cao asked Wang for a dance and it was love at first sight.

They were originally from Shanghai, but fled to southwest China after World War II broke out.

Sadly, they were separated during the war, with Cao being sent to the China-Burma-India Theatre to work as a translator, but they wrote each other love letters constantly.

As soon as the war was over, the pair got married, and have been together ever since.

So what is the secret to their happy marriage? Cao told Xinhua news agency, “Couples need to care for each other. I think of her at anytime, and so does she.”

Meanwhile, Wang told her husband, “When we are both 100-years-old, we will come back again, ok?”
