One groom went above and beyond when it came to creating the perfect wedding day gift for his bride, who is a massive Harry Potter fan. He made her a real-life Pensieve.

If you can’t remember what a Pensieve is, let us refresh your memories: it’s a magical bowl that can be used to view your own memories. How did he do it, we bet you’re wondering. It’s pretty cool.

Firstly the thoughtful groom, who goes by the name of duffmanszalotofthings on Reddit and Imgur, actually made a bowl. He went to actual pottery classes and he made a beautiful, glazed bowl. Already he’s got serious house points. He also added a sneaky Deathly Hallows emblem and a heart with their initials to the bowl.

Then he got his bride a wand, which came in fancy packaging and featured a magnetic tip – you’ll see why in a second.

He snapped up a Beanie Baby owl – way better than a real owl as it’s less messy, less noisy and way cuddlier. This small owl kept watch over the hand-made Pensieve and delivered it to the bride, owl post style.

He collected together some tiny, cork-stoppered test tubes and filled each one with a special memory from their relationship, and added a magnet to the bottom of each tube.

This is so the wand can magically pull the tubes out of the bowl (did we mention he made the bowl himself?). He also thoughtfully provided empty tubes for ‘future memories’ – sob.
