With celebrity guests Phillip Schofield, Holly Willoughby, Rylan Clarke-Neal, Gok Wan and Alison Hammond attending, it was always set to be the wedding of the year.

But, when Annie and Gareth exchanged “I dos” it was particularly poignant as the ceremony marked one year to the day that Annie had undergone a serious operation for aggressive stage three breast cancer.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house – especially when Peter Andre surprised the couple by singing Fly Me To The Moon for their first dance.

You & Your Wedding has info on all the details that made the day so special for the couple.

It began weeks earlier, when Annie was thrilled to learn that Gok Wan would be designing her wedding dress. To get an idea of Annie’s personal style, Gok took her to award winning bridal designer Ian Stuart’s exclusive Blewcoat store.

While Ian and Gok pulled some dresses for Annie to try she sipped on a cheeky mimosa and enjoyed the scented candles.

“This day draws a line under my cancer experience,” Annie said before trying three stunning dresses to see which silhouettes and details would make up her dream dress.

After a magical morning spent at the Blewcoat, Gok was inspired.

“In my head I have a clear idea now of what your final dress is going to look like.”

Judging by Annie’s face on her big day he got it spot on…

Next up it was a meeting to discuss flowers and design with award winning luxury floral designer Amie Bone.

Talking through ideas with Annie and Gareth, Amie was aware that creating a transformation was going to be a little more challenging than usual. Not only did the space need to look stunning but it had to be camera-friendly too.

But working alongside the talented This Morning design team, Amie took it all in her stride. “If a bride can dream it then I can create it.”

Groom Gareth was given an appointment with award-winning Savile Row tailor, Alexandra Wood, who was full of advice.

“This is a dream come true,” Gareth admitted.  ‘I have always wanted to have a suit made just for me and look like James Bond!”

He and Alexandra really hit it off and everyone agreed that the groom and his best man, Adam Watling, looked a million dollars when they arrived on the big day to a venue which Amie had transformed into a magical English summer garden.

The deck was bursting with scented florals in Annie’s choice of colours: dusky pink, lavender and creams. Amie arranged Roses, Lavender, Lizzianthus, Freesia, Phlox, Stocks, Delphiniums, Tulips, Gladioli and soft delicate foliages which lined the white carpeted aisle.

Annie arrived in a beautiful 1960 Silver Cloud Rolls Royce from Elegance Wedding Cars, just in time for Amie to hand her a stunning bouquet which had a very special photo of Annie’s late dad attached so that he could share her big day.

Celebrity make up artist Bryony Blake worked her magic to keep Annie’s look subtle but beautiful.  Everyone agreed that Annie looked like the best version of herself.

Celebrity chef Phil Vickery was working hard on board creating an amazing wedding breakfast while a towering wedding cake made up of beautiful individual cup cakes was created by Cake Boy.

Getting married on live TV is not for the faint hearted and it poses some additional obstacles for suppliers. But, as with any wedding, it’s so important to have the right team behind you.

Team Annie became very emotionally involved during the process and really pulled out the stops on the big day and that’s something that every bride deserves.

“It’s been an absolutely amazing adventure,” said Annie reflecting on the past weeks. “I had to keep pinching myself to know that it was true.”
