The Couple
Domini and Richard met through work in London and were engaged in style, in New York after five years together. “It was my birthday, and we were at the top of the Empire State Building. I was so shocked, I didn’t answer straight away,” says Domini.

The Venues

The couple chose to marry at their local church, St John’s in Buckhurst Hill, followed by a reception at Greenwoods Hotel Spa and Retreat near Chelmsford.

“We wanted a marquee and there weren’t many venues that would allow you to put one up on their grounds. We also felt totally comfortable at Greenwoods,” says Domini. “We didn’t have a theme as such – all we knew is that we wanted a modern style with bright flowers and accessories.”

Domini and Richard – The Bride (dress)

The Outfits

Domini chose a stunning vintage lace Caroline Castigliano dress with a Champagne sash for the daytime and a fuchsia version for the evening. She accessorised this with sling-back shoes from top designer Jimmy Choo, and Swarovski jewellery. Her three bridesmaids wore champagne-coloured Forever Yours dresses from Brenda Lorraine Bridal Wear and matching Kurt Geiger shoes. Richard wore a made-to-measure three-piece grey suit from Marc Wallace.

The Flowers

Local florists Springfield created some beautiful floral designs for the day. Domini chose large cream gerberas for her bouquet – and the reception venue was decorated with tall arrangements of fuchsia pink gerberas and green foliage.

“We also had arrangements twisted around the columns of the marquee and bay trees at the entrance,” added Domini.

The Ceremony… The exchanging of vows – in the couple’s local church St John’s – was a real high point in the day.

The Reception… Afterwards guests moved to Greenwoods for a sun-drenched Champagne and canapé reception, accompanied by a live jazz duo.

The food… This was followed by a four-course dinner, including warm tomato and goat’s cheese tart, prawn and avocado tower with lobster sauce and tarte tatin with vanilla custard.

Domini and Richard – The Cake(s)

The Cake(s)

Richard’s mother made the couple’s gorgeous cake – a top tier of chocolate cake and around 100 small round fruit cakes, decorated in white icing and arranged on three glass tiers. A live band, Break For Cover entertained guests at the start of the evening, followed by a DJ until midnight.

Domini and Richard – First Dance

Domini and Richard thoroughly enjoyed every moment of their special day. “The moment I will never forget is walking up the aisle with my Dad and seeing the look on Richard’s face as I got to him,” says Domini.
