Daria and Billy: A Continental Engagement
An office romance flourished into lasting love for Daria and Billy who met while working at a cosmetics company in London. “We soon realised we shared a similar sense of humour and had the same ambitions in life,” says Daria.
Right away, the couple started planning a September day to reflect their joint Italian/English heritage. “It was an eclectic vintage tea-party as a nod to my English husband,” Daria says. “But as we were in Umbria, the food also played a big part – Italian weddings are all about the food!”

Daria and Billy: Sparkly Something Old
Daria accessorised on her special day with a vintage diamond bracelet and earrings that had belonged to her grandmother. The couple personalised their rings by inscribing their wedding date onto the white-gold bands in roman numerals.
Daria and Billy: Donning Designer
For the ceremony, they chose an intimate Italian chapel inside the cathedral where Daria took her first Holy Communion: the Duomo di Spoleto. Daria wore
a strapless Carnevali Spose dress embellished with Swarovski crystals and completed the look with a lace bolero by St. Patrick , gold Jimmy Choos and a House
of Telsa fascinator.
Daria and Billy: An English Assortment
Daria carried a mixture of roses, peonies, hydrangeas, lysanthum and hypericum berries down the isle. The “shabby-chic” combo complemented her English Country Garden theme.

Daria and Billy: Groomed to Perfection
Billy sported a Vacheron Constantin watch that Daria’s stepfather had handed down for her future husband and a 3-piece suit by Davide Cenci.
Daria and Billy: Rustic Villa
Daria and Billy chose country house Valle Rosa, Spoleto for their reception. “Our florist, Roberta, dressed the venue,” says Daria. “There were candy jars filled with pink and aqua marshmallows, framed photos of us and our children, and ornate lanterns that created a magical atmosphere in the evening.”
Daria and Billy: Sweet Sentiments
Daria and Roberta tied glass milk bottles, jam jars and vases with eau de nil ribbon and small cameos, with pink and white flowers, herbs and berries strewn around the venue. Daria also set a handmade bomboniere at each place. “I filled transparent boxes with pastel sugared almonds and Pastiglie Leone candy,” says Daria.
Daria and Billy: Thoughtful Touch
She added a vintage thank you tag from Seasonal Delights (etsy.com) to each gift box. “It meant a lot to me to personalise this classic Italian tradition,” says Daria. The blue ribbon on everything from the bombonieres to the peony and rose bouquet served as Daria’s something blue.
Daria and Billy: It’s a Gift
Favours were Tiffany playing cards for the men, Fortnum & Mason cups and saucers for the women, and goody bags of crayons, books, toys, stickers and sweets for the children.
Daria and Billy: Let the Sparks Fly
The sponge cake, by Rita at Tebro, Spoleto, had a Chantilly cream and chocolate-drop filling. The couple chose sparklers with their initials to sit on top instead of the traditional bride and groom.

The cake stand was peppered with pastel coloured cupcakes amongst English country flowers with ivy.
Daria and Billy: Bellissimo Amore
Although Daria and Billy led the dancing to their version of Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, the couple’s favourite moment was nothing to do with their first dance. “We loved seeing our son, daughter, nephew and niece arriving at the chapel as flowergirls and ring-bearers, as the violinist and organist started to play,” says Daria. “We wanted an intimate fun and timeless wedding to share our day with those that really knew us.”
