Neil And Louise – Neil’s Arrival
When avid adventurer Neil told his fiancee Louise that he would row across the Atlantic to marry her, he meant it!
While Neil set about organising his mission it was left to Louise to decide upon a Caribbean venue – with the help of wedding abroad experts Tropical Sky.
Together they settled on the stunning Almond Beach Village in Barbados.
Neil set off from the port of San Sebastian La Gomera in the Canary Islands on board the Britannia III as part of the Atlantic Rowing Race while his bride-to-be waited for him patiently.
After 39 gruelling days at sea it became clear that Neil was not going to make the agreed date and the ceremony had to be rescheduled.
“And I thought it was only the bride that had the right to be late on the wedding day!” says Louise.
Neil And Louise – Guard of Honour
One day late the pair were married; Louise in a traditional white dress and Neil in less traditional long shorts and a blue shirt.
To complete the ceremony Neil’s crew formed a ‘guard of honour’ with their oars.
In celebration of Neil’s fantastic achievement, Tropical Sky have put together a special “Row-Mantic” Caribbean Wedding Package – with only a one-way flight included! So if any other adventure junkies want to try their hand at crossing the Atlantic themselves, Tropical Sky already has the perfect solution.”
Tropical Sky’s ‘Row-Mantic Caribbean Wedding Package’ starts from £1,182 per person.
