Sarah and James’ Italian village wedding – Why Italy?
Sarah and James Knight were married in Castellabate, a little village on the Cilento coast on the terrace of a hotel called La Mola, overlooking the sea.
“We chose Italy because we’d been there on holiday and loved how romantic everything was, but also because we were certain that we wanted a very small and intimate wedding with just close family,” says Sarah.

They chose the venue with the help of Julie McKenzie from Honeymoon Heaven and decorated the terrace with roses, an arch of flowers and burgundy ribbons.
“The setting was so romantic and as it is quite far down on the coast the weather was 30 degrees and sunny for pretty much the whole time we were there,” says Sarah.

Sarah and James’ wedding planner had organised a surprise for them – instead of a normal car they were driven up to the town hall in tiny little tuc-tuc style vehicles, decorated with white ribbon.

They then joined their guests in the square and everyone walked up to the restaurant, Belvedere, where a large table had been set on the terrace overlooking the village of Santa Maria di Castellabate and the beach.

The terrace was decorated with more roses, candles, little hearts on the table and the place settings/favours were individual chocolate or sponge cakes with the guests’ names on them, wrapped up in burgundy ribbon to match the theme.
