Supermodel wedding style
We know that Kate Moss is getting married this summer, and we know that Kate Moss loves Ibiza. So imagine if she decided to hold her wedding on the White Isle…
Ibiza is a fabulous place to get married, especially in the early summer or autumn when it’s bright, warm and sunny but neither too hot nor too busy. April to early July, or September to November are perfect times to hold a Balearic wedding.
The picturesque church in San Carlos, with its thick white-washed walls is popular for ceremonies. But wedding planner Vickki Jay of EatIbiza recommends a luxury villa or private boutique hotel for the ultimate in A-lister privacy.
Vickki says, ‘The focus of the wedding would be a boho chic ceremony and amazing after-party and privacy. I think Kate Moss would just want something as untouched by the papers as possible… she would also want to cut loose and have fun, but also I think she would want the ceremony to be also quite intimate… perhaps overlooking the sea.’
A dream location would be Jade Jagger’s house which has its own on-site chapel. But if you don’t have those kind of connections, one of Ibiza’s stylish, exclusive hotels such as Can Gall or Can Talaias are tucked away in the privacy of the countryside and make for a perfect wedding venue in typical Balearic style.
Style and quality
Vickki says, ‘People come to Ibiza for their dream wedding, an warm outdoor wedding where style and quality are unparalleled, and above all a wedding that is as much fun for their guests as it is for them.’
Hiring a private villa for bride, groom and best guests is a popular option for Ibiza wedding couples. It gives you the flexibility of styling your own location, making for a relaxed and highly individualistic celebration. Chilling out and doing things your own way are what Ibiza is all about. Alternatively, choose a venue (the perfect excuse for a long pre-wedding recce in the Balearics) that you can take over exclusively for your big day and let guests party into the night, giving them the genuine Ibiza party experience. Try Cap des Falco or Amante Beach Club.
Don’t be tempted to try and organize a DIY Ibiza wedding. It’s a small island – you can drive end to end in about an hour – so sourcing bridal must-haves like a cake, and ensuring they are delivered to the right place on the right day can be a challenge. An island-based planner is indispensable. EatIbiza is a catering and wedding planning company based on Ibiza, that has catered for celebrity customers including Kate Moss, Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Gwen Stefani and many more…
