Kerri and Matt chose New Year’s Eve for their wedding day, plumping for an opulent Great Gatsby inspired theme to embrace the glamour of the date.
“I love the style of the art deco era and we both love the Great Gatsby film, so we thought it would make a great theme for a New Year’s Eve wedding,” says Kerri. “I looked for venues that had an art deco feel and would let us carry on until 1am. We visited Barnett Hill and knew instantly that it was where we’d get married.”
In keeping with the feel of the day, Kerri wore a Watters dress, purchased from her bridal boutique, Bridal Indulgence. “I wanted my dress to have a nod to the art deco era without being too cliche,” she explains. “The Ferrera gown was perfect; it’s a lace sheath dress with beaded tassles. The oyster colour gave a vintage look and complemented my skin tone.”
The bridesmaids also wore Watters, opting for a mix and match bridesmaid style. “They all have very different body shapes and styles, so they all wore different outfits but in the same rose gold sequins and blush pink,” Kerri explains.
To complement the vintage vibe, Kerri and Matt decided on a rose gold and blush pink colour palette, decorating the tables with pink wedding flowers by Castle Street Flowers, and adding other rose gold details including a bird cage that acted as a wedding card box, and a pretty metallic table plan.
The tables were named after iconic people from the Great Gatsby era, including Coco Chanel.
The four-tier wedding cake was made by a friend and comprised of layers of chocolate orange, lemon drizzle and white chocolate and raspberry, and the sweet treats didn’t end there, with blush pink glitter macarons acting as favours.
Robin Studios documented the day, following an engagement shoot which helped Kerri and Matt get used to being in front of the camera.
“Robin Studios are a husband and wife team, with Jess doing the photography and Charlie doing the videography,” says Kerri. “Having a videographer capture our day was the best thing we did. Charlie captured so many moments that I’d either missed or hadn’t taken in. It was so lovely to sit and watch our wedding video and remember the amazing day we’d had.”
