Cowley Manor for M&S bathtime treats

Beauty Editor Sarah Green discovers spa-worthy skin, on the high street

Spoil yourself at bathtime with these best of British body treats

You know the miniature smellies you get in posh hotel bathrooms? Well, the one and only time they’ve come home with me was from oh-so-chic Cowley Manor in the Cotwolds. The bath foams, body lotions and hand creams just oozed sunny English countryside charm. One sniff and I was thinking back to hazy summer days as a child making perfume from the flowers in my nan’s garden, picking blackberries and running around in the woods. They felt as good on my skin as they smelt too.

So I’m beyond delighted that Marks & Spencer has teamed up with Cowley founders Peter and Jessica Frankopan to create a sumptuous and completely natural range of bath, body and home products. There are two scents to choose from, Awaken (citrus with a smoky hint of bergamot) and Nurture (floral with a warm helping of English hops), both boasting scent-sational concoctions of essential oils organically grown in the UK.

Wallowing in a warm bath laced with the Bath Foam, £12, followed by a smothering of Body Butter, £12, has become my favourite way to de-stress – plus the bathroom smells divine for ages afterwards. If the setting for your wedding is an English country garden, you should definitely think about placing a few open bottles of the Diffuser Oil, £15, at the reception.
