Shopping for the big day can be a challenge. You need the dream dress, the perfect shoes, the something borrowed, the something blue – but how high is jewellery (other than the engagement ring and wedding band) in your list of importance?
“A dress is a dress, but you can enhance it with jewellery and create something more personal and dynamic,” Cornelia advises. “To me it is like being in a good relationship, you bring out the best of your partner which is what a good piece of jewellery does to your dress and overall look. “
Gold-plated, silk and pearl choker, £135
With a background in medicine, Cornelia is passionate about nature and gets inspired by aura and the delicate design of the universe around her. She understands the importance of accessorising in order to enhance the beauty that already exists.
“I try to not compete with myself when I´m dressing,” she comments. Jewellery should be “the perfect balance of lifting an outfit without overtaking its simplicity” – something that we totally agree with. A fabulous veil, a cool tiara, or, in the case of the Cornelia Webb for Net a Porter Bridal collection: a chic choker or ornate headpiece, should make you look and feel fantastic, and should be something a bride wants to wear on the wedding day and beyond.
Gold-plated pearl choker, £165
The way in which a silk ribbon wraps around the calf of a ballerina was Cornelia’s primary inspiration, while she chose to work with pearl based on it’s values and history, which “makes it a material that brings more than beauty to the table.”
The collection includes chokers, rings, earrings, a hand bracelet and ornate head piece; all hand cast in 24carat gold plated brass and features cultivated freshwater pearls and grey Mother of Pearl. Whoever said pearls were a little bit outdated obviously hasn’t seen these pieces – modern bridal luxe at it’s best!
Gold-plated earrings, £240
The Bridal collection is available from today exclusively at Net a Porter. Happy shopping!
