We’ve all heard the saying that an engagement ring ideally costs a month’s salary, but if you’ve got your eye on this Cartier ring, you’ll need a fiance with an EXTREMELY well paid job.

This gorgeous blue diamond Cartier ring is up for auction at Sotheby’s and is expected to fetch in the region of £20.3 million pounds. Given that the average wedding in 2016 costs £25,090 we’re betting that this beauty will have to stay firmly in the dream ring category.
The Sky Blue Diamond, as it has been named by the auction house, has been graded fancy-vivid-blue by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) – the highest possible colour grading, awarded to only around 1% of blue diamonds submitted to the GIA.
David Bennett, Worldwide Chairman of Sotheby’s international jewellery division, said: “The ‘Sky Blue Diamond’ is of a wonderfully clear celestial blue, presented in an extremely elegant square emerald cut – in my view, the most flattering of all the cuts for a coloured diamond.” – just imagine if it was your something blue at your wedding!
With the staggering price tag, we think this might be the most expensive engagement ring in recent years, making Kim Kardashian’s $1 million ring seem like pocket change.
