Who knew the Queen was such a fashionista? When we saw these images of HRH sporting a perfectly matched umbrella-and-outfit combo, we couldn’t help but dream of our wedding guests looking quite so brilliantly colour co-ordinated. Well, that dream of a wedding day peppered with sartorially harmonised guests could soon be a reality, thanks to the genius folk at John Lewis.
Right in time for wedding season and hen dos at the races, renowned milliner Nigel Rayment is launching an exclusive hat-dying service at John Lewis Oxford Street and Peter Jones to help ladies match their headpiece to their occasionwear.
Famous for a bright hat, HRH
Known for his creative designs, Nigel Rayment has worked with John Lewis to select a limited collection of stunning (and Ascot-approved!) headwear that can be dyed to any shade specification. With four styles to choose from, including high-glamour wide-sweeping brims and cute-and-quirky statement discs, prices from just £135, and hats available within four weeks, it’s the perfect excuse to get ahead!
Amanda Scott, Head of Buying Accessories at John Lewis, says; “As the only department store to offer this unique colour-dying service, wedding belles will be able to choose a hat in a shade they love. From this season’s pretty pastels to a just-right shade to match your skin tone, hats can be tinted to virtually whatever shade you want.”
Why not treat mum to a shopping day out and surprise her with a bespoke, just-made-for-her hat for her (and your!) big day.
The dye-to-order collection launches in John Lewis Oxford Street and Peter Jones in March 2012. Visit john.lewis.com for details.
