1. The changeling bride
If you’re a dress diva who wants more than one look on your big day, we’ve spied an on-trend solution for you – one dress with two ways to wear it. Think translucent tulle skirts which reveal a mini underneath as seen at Reem Acra and detachable statement shoulders as seen at Oscar de la Renta.
2. Colour pop princess
Forget big white wedding gowns, for some designers, this season is all about the big bright dress! Vera Wang blew everyone away with her striking scarlet-hued dresses, while Oscar de la Renta stuck with bridal tradition and offered up something blue for brides-to-be.
3. Suits you
Vintage style two-pieces were the toast of the town in New York with Carolina Herrera sending a sassy Bianca Jagger-inspired trouser suit down the bridal runway while Oscar de la Renta went for Mia Farrow-esque bejewelled shift dresses and cute cropped jackets.
4. Tulle rules
Frothy, floaty, flirty and feminine; oh-so-pretty swathes of tulle were seen all over the bridal catwalks. From full layered skirts at Amsale to sheer veils which delicately envelop the entire dress at Monique Lhuillier, it was certainly the fabric du jour at the shows.
5. Short & sweet
Good news girls, the designers have given us permission to parade our pins on W-day. There were plenty of super-sweet short wedding dresses being showcased on the runway. Less is most definitely more!
