Poppy Delevingne’s two-in-one Chanel wedding dress

A new bridal trend is in town as the model detaches the skirt of her couture dress for a stunning day-to-night look

Model and socialite Poppy Delevingne has stirred waves of dress lust through brides-to-be everywhere, as she revealed not one, but two beautiful styles at her wedding on Friday.

Poppy’s Haute Couture Chanel dress, made especially for her by Karl Lagerfeld, had a detachable skirt, so she could whip off her floor-length look and go from demure in the daytime to sexy for her evening do in a flash. The embellished, cap-sleeve dress with floral appliqué looked stunning on the 27-year-old’s famous frame, and we’re head over heels with both the sweeping full-length and cute mini version.

Her supermodel little sister Cara Delevingne, who also wore Chanel, helped her sibling with her long veil as they walked up to the church.

After seeing Poppy marry long-term love James Cook in a ceremony at St Paul’s Church in Knightsbridge, the wedding party moved on to the celebrity hangout Chiltern Firehouse to continue the celebrations.

As well as being wowed by the dress, we’ve also got serious beauty envy; A-list make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury created the dewy cheeks and smoky eyes seen on the sisters, while George Northwood (credited with creating The Alexa tousled hair trend), was responsible for Poppy’s glamorous curls.

It’s not the first time a designer has been at the centre of a magical moment for Poppy and James – when the couple got engaged in 2012, James proposed with a bespoke Anya Hindmarch memories box, embossed with the message ‘will you marry me?’ and filled with photos of the two of them.

And as if all this wasn’t exciting enough, rumour has it there’s a wedding part two set to take place in Marrakech – now we can’t wait to see the wardrobe for that!
