Ditch the bobbles, hairgrips and bulldog clips wannabe princess brides: the long, flowing downdo is the official royal wedding hairstyle. That’s according to Kate Middleton’s hairdresser, Richard Ward, who The Daily Mail reports told celeb-stylist pal Sinead Kelly that Kate’s locks will “100% be down and flowy”.

The Sloane Square hair guru apparently elaborated: “Every bride’s hair on their wedding day should reflect their look throughout the year. Kate’s such a natural girl, so no stuffy updos for her.”

Ward will be whipping up a crown-worthy look for mother-of-the-bride Carole and maid of honour Pippa on Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Big day, while his colleague James Pryce – credited with those must-have shiny tresses in the official engagement snaps – will get his combs into Kate herself.

But if you’re fancying some fit-for-a-princess styling for your own wedding, you’d better pick up the phone now: while celeb snipper Pryce currently charges just £50 for styling and £88 for cut and blow dries, rumour has it the numbers will skyrocket post-royal ‘I do’s…
